W. F.F. - W.B.B.F. IN JAPAN.

Working since 1968 today W.F.F. - W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Bodybuilding Federation) represents members of 141 Countries Worldwide.

Some time ago we received information from Japan. Already two decades W.F.F. - W.B.B.F. International Japan was represented by a former Embassy Officer Eugeny Latypov. At the 26-th W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. „Universe“ contest official of Japan was W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Pro TORIU FUKUTOMI. Under his recomendation some time ago official representative of Japan at the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International was appointed IORI NISHIZAWA.

WORLD FITNESS HISTORY.

FIRST OVER ALL WORLD FITNESS CHAMPION.

Former representative of balely and gymnastics Lithuanian EDITA DAUBARAITE (now Sendriene, Dubar) was the ground ground ground daughter of BRONE DUBAR. It was Emigrant of Lithuania BRONE DUBAR (Broné “Brownie” Dubar, Daubaraitė, 1906 – 1986) who came with her family to the USA in 1912. When her sport achievements went high she started public shows. Specialists use to call her „World Fitness Pioneer“ but in her times there was no any fitness sport at all. To say more – women sport was included to „Olympics“ only in 1920. This was the reason that 100 years ago gymnastic and acrobatic exercises of BRONE DUBAR were not named as „sport“. Aiming to make fitness propaganda BRONE DUBAR made her shows through all USA – from South to North and from West to East.

In 1995 EDITA DAUBARAITE was present at the N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) World Championship in Malta. There was one exceptional athlete among many women bodybuilders. Shie was DANIELA HARIC (Croatia). DANIELA HARIC was not muscular. She performed a complex routine full of gymnastic elements. „I want this..“ – said EDITA DAUBARAITE and when back to Lithuania she started prerparations. Everything was ok. In 1996 the founders of the W.F.F. - International (World Fitness Federation) DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS, German KLAUS P.J. HOFFMANN, Greek ANARGIROS TSOPUORIDIS and Austrian PETER PAPULA started W.F.F. World Fitness Championships in Kaizerslautern (Germany). That was a revolution in bodybuilding. They  wanted to run away from huge muscles. This way in 1997 in Manheim (Germany) EDITA DAUBARAITE became the Over All World Fitness Champion. „Eurosport“ Television made several reports about this. The Sport Ministry of Lithuanian Republic wanted to present EDITA DAUBARAITE an Official Governmental Award but envy and intrigues among sport federations ruined this idea.

AFRICA BODYBUILDING REVUE.

Africa is a big Continent. It seems so fare away  and people do not know much about it. W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) international started communicating with Africa bodybuilders in 1984. Then African bodybuilders used to visit Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR) sea port. They spent much time discussing bodybuilding with DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. We got acquainted with Presidents of many African National Bodybuilding Federations when in 1989 in Paris (France) President I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) BEN WEIDER presented them to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. During the last thirty years members of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International became bodybuilding organizations of the folowing Africa countries:

Cameroon (president Serge Thuinte),

Zimbabwe (president Munya Maraire),

Angola (president Aristofanes Cauto Cabal),

Equatorial Guinea (president Ichinio Ondo Nkogo Avomo),

Now we are negotiating with representatives of Egypt and Namibia of participation at the International W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. events.

AFRICA BODYBUILDERS AT W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. CONTESTS.

First Africa bodybuilders came to W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. competitions in 2008 to Poland and Lithuania. That were athletes of Algeria and Mozambique. Started in 2008 Mozambique athlete LEONOR HILARIO GREFFEL won many Amateur and Professional titles. Now she lives in Denmark.

We were surprized when after long discussions we hosted team of the Republic of South Africa (R.S.A.) concisting of 92 athletes. That was 2009 W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. World Championship in Tallinn (Estonia). National President of W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. R.S.A. was TOMMY DU RAND. Among women categories was leading W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Pro R.S.A. athlete PHILIPPA LAMONT WILKIE.

In 2010 representing R.S.A. were top athletes  HEINRICH VOSS and TRACEY GOTTCHALK. Both took high places at the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Pro World Championship in Brusno Kupele (Slovakia). They fighted for 30 000 US dollars cash prizes.

In 2011 among multiple R.S.A. team at the World AM-Pro Championships in Austria and Slovakia were top International athletes SHAEMEN ADAMS, SUZANNA LEMMER and ELIZABETH VAN DEN MERVE. Again they fighted for 30 000 US dollars cash prizes.

In 2011 and 2012 at the „World Grand Prix“ competitions W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. hosted top Nigeria bodybuilders JAMES SYLVESTER ONO and KING IZOGIE. Both of them now live in Europe.

In 2013 R.S.A. was represented by huge bodybuilder JOHN LESLIE. He won W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Pro Worlds in 2013 and 2015 (Slovakia and Lithuania).

In 2016 R.S.A. was represented by another huge athlete JANNIE COETZEE. He also became W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Pro World Champion then.

CLUMSY SITUATION.

2019 pandemia and 2022 war in Ukraine stopped a number big International projects of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F.. Due to the politics of the European Union for a number of years we can not host teams at W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International contests from Egypt (gymnastics) and Nigeria. We see only one way out now – they can compete at our regular competitions in Paraguay, Brazil, Russia, Pakistan, India and Thailand.

WHO BROKE BODYBUILDING IN ESTONIA?

BEHAVIOUR AROUND INNAR MARDO.

In 1980 bodybuilding still was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist Countries. When in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote the petition to defend prohibited bodybuilding, he personally brought it to Moscow and presented to the highest U.S.S.R. political powers. The achieved victory let to start public competitions in Klaipeda (Lithusnian SSR). Until this time contests were illegal and were done illegally without public. The first official public bodybuilding contest was the 1978 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“,  «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2025) which was organized by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Since 1978 the „Amber Prix International“ got the status of the „Unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («Неофициальный чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»).

OVERTHROW INNAR MARDO.

In 1980 the traditional „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 - 2024) was not organized in the Estonian SSR. When in 1979 INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1946 – 2002) and the best U.S.S.R. bodybuilder of that time Estonian OLEV ANNUS returned from competition in Czechoslovakian SSR they guarreled in between. Influenced by Lithuanian ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS OLEV ANNUS started acting. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS always envied INNAR MARDO his sport success. Letters of INNAR MARDO to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS say that OLEV ANNUS wrote bad letters about INNAR MARDO to political powers of the Estonian SSR. Due to this INNAR MARDO lost his gym and his position of the President of the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Estonian SSR. Also the Communist powers of the Estonian SSR prohibited 1980 „Georg Tenno Momorial“.

The leadership of bodybuilding in the Estonian SSR took OLEV ANNUS and brothers ARRO. INNAR AMARDO as well as DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS did not stop bodybuilding activities due to the conflicts. Both went on working on their own.

In 1980 separatly from the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO and INDREK OTSUS went to „Trener“ contest in the Czechoslovakian SSR. INDREK OTSUS won against the 1975 Over All I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) Europe Champion PETER STACH again and received the title of the Over All Winner.

MEETINGS AT SPORT MINISTRY.

BEGINNING. SITUATION IN SOCIALIST WORLD.

Bodybuilding sport has never been created and developed by athletes. Bodybuilding was developed by top officials and organizers. On the bodybuilding way to future organizers were building the road to sport. Bodybuilders were like kilometre signs at this road. Often organizers led bodybuilding wrong way. Today problems of bodybuilding are evident and guilty persons are known very well.

Contemporary bodybuilding does not appear as it is. Only few persons dared to act when bodybuilding was prohibited in Socialist Countries. Being afraid of prosecution nearly all bodybuilders left the sport.

We will speak about bodybuilding in Czechoslovakian SSR – they influenced all Socialist Countries. Now after fifty years we look upon our relations with Czechoslovaks from another angle.

Due to political reasons bodybuilding was prohibited in Socialist World in 1973. Socialist States started to prosecute bodybuilders. After 1968 revolution in Czechoslovakia their Government was lojal to bodybuilders. Comparing with other Socialist Countries after the revolution U.S.S.R. political powers let Czechoslovaks much more. At the same time bodybuilders in other Socialist Countries suffered much. Everybody envied the Czechoslovaks. There is no another person who was and still is close to Czechoslovak bodybuilding so much as President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Bodybuilding Federation)  International DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS.

Activities of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS were supported only by the leader of bodybuilding in Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1945 – 2002) and creators of famous „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ («Вильнюсская школа культуризма») CESLAV TAMULEVIC (Чеслав Тамулевич) and VITALIJ ASOVSKIJ (Виталий Асовский). Today we are proud that we respected both of them in time – at the Parliament Republic Lithuania both received „International Honour Silver Medals“ («Международной Серебрянной Медалью Почёта», „Tarptautinis Garbės Sidabro Medalis“).

During the prohibition of bodybuilding only few officially permitted not regular contests were held in Tallinn (Estonian SSR). That was the International „Georg Tenno Memorial“ („Georgo Tenno memorialas“, «Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 2024). Also at the same time several underground and not officially permitted contests were organized in Lithuanian SSR. It lasted until in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS dared to write bodybuilding defending petition and brought it to Headquarters of the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party in Moscow.

This way we got political permittion to organize the International „Amber Prix“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз»  1968 - 2025) in Klaipeda (Lithuania SSR) in 1978.

Being afraid of prosecution all other U.S.S.R. bodybuilding organizers did nothing. After defeat at 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ best R.S.F.S.R. bodybuilder VLADIMIR DUBININ (Владимир Дубинин) isolated himself and left bodybuilding for thirteen years. Until 1987 VLADIMIR DUBININ was not among bodybuilding organizers, he was only athlete. Only in 1980 representing their gyms Russians led by VLADIMIR SUBOV (Владимир Шубов, Moscow) and EUGENE KOLTUN (Евгений Колтун, Tiumen) started participating at bodybuilding contests in Baltic Countries. Both were representing their bodybuilding gyms that were acting illegally.

IMPORTANT 1975. MEETINGS AT SPORT MINISTRY.

Bodybuilders went on their own way when bodybuilding was prohibited in Socialist Countries in 1973. There was no communication in between. Nearly no...

In 1975 bodybuilders of the Chechoslovakian SSR got permittion to participate in the „West“ due to efforts of the President of Czechoslovakia Bodybuilding Federation VOJTECH FIALA. After 1968 revolution in Czechoslovakian SSR Czechoslovaks had many advantages comparing with other Socialist Countries. This way led by VOJTECH FIALA Czechoslovakia bodybuilders participated at the 1975 I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) Europe Championship. Then PETR STACH won his category and became the Over All Europe Champion. Since that time for long time on Czechoslovakia bodybuilders were the only ones permitted to participate at the „Western“ competitions.

In 1975 basing on the exchange of the University students DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS went to Czechoslovakia for two months. In Prague DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS met VOJTECH FIALA. During the following two months their meetings were often. Both had enough time to speak over the International bodybuilding situation. VOJTECH FIALA organized a visit to PETR STACH who was living close to Prague. PETR STACH told about the Europe Championship and explained DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS about his training systems and posed in front of him.

At the same time VOJTECH FIALA organized the meeting of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS with the Chairmen of the Ministry of sport of the Czechoslovakian SSR (Č.S.T.V., Československy Svaz Telesne Vychovy). Questions of the situation around bodybuilding was spoken over. VOJTECH FIALA wanted to demonstrate his good relations with the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding leaders and  since 1973 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was the only one to visit his country. Seeking to learn about the situation of bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. Czechoslovaks addressed one of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding pioneers GENADIJ BALDIN (Геннадий Балдин). GENADIJ BALDIN wrote them that bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. is dead and only some bodybuilding organizers in the Baltic Countries still unofficially develop this sport on underground level.

1977 MEETINGS AT SPORT MINISTRY.

In 1977 still as a student of Vilnius State University DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS for two months went to Czechoslovakia again. Again working on the future cooperation between the U.S.S.R. and Czechoslovakian SSR bodybuilders DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and VOJTECH FIALA visited the Ministry of Sport of  Czechoslovakian SSR. For the discussion meetings with the Chairmen of the Ministry were organized. In 1977 Czechoslovakian bodybuilding Federation had a room at the Ministry. Secretary of the federation was a famous bodybuilder PETER TLAPAK. He presented the headquarters of the federation, discussed the situation and posed in front of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS.

VOJTECH FIALA for DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS organized a trip to a mountain resort where Czechoslovakia bodybuilders under support of the Government were preparing for the coming World Championship. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS discussed various questions with athletes and trainers.

Also VOJTECH FIALA invited DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to two meetings of the Czechoslovakia Bodybuilding Federation Council. The meetings were held by Professor FRANTISEK BULVA in the city of Brno. Under the requests of the participants DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS spoke on bodybuilding situation ion the U.S.S.R. and in Lithuania SSR.

“Amber Prix” stories. Yevgeny Zhurtsev – A Lifetime Devoted to Bodybuilding.

One of the most prominent figures associated with the legendary international Amber Prix tournament was Yevgeny Zhurtsev of Vilnius, one of Lithuania's leading bodybuilders of the 1970s and 1980s. He belonged to a generation of athletes who built the sport not with modern training facilities or financial support, but through enthusiasm, perseverance, and an unwavering determination to improve.

Zhurtsev began training in 1966 in a woodshed in his backyard and later continued in the attic of his home. Only a year later, in 1967, he made his competitive debut at local bodybuilding competitions in Panevėžys.

From 1969 to 1971, compulsory military service in the Soviet Army interrupted his athletic career. Upon returning, he immediately resumed training together with his friend Yuri Prikhodko.

A turning point came when he began working under Česlav Tamulevič, one of the Soviet Union's finest bodybuilding coaches and the founder of the renowned Vilnius School of Bodybuilding. Athletes trained within this system became famous not only for their outstanding physiques but also for their exceptional posing artistry. Their posing routines became a benchmark throughout the Soviet Union, attracting bodybuilders from many republics who traveled to Vilnius to learn from them.

Yevgeny Zhurtsev became one of the brightest representatives of this school. In 1972, although he was still eligible to compete as a junior, his coach entered him in the senior division at the Georg Tenno Memorial in Tallinn. The decision reflected both the coach's confidence in his athlete and Zhurtsev's remarkable level of maturity.

Zhurtsev was remembered not only for his well-balanced physique but also for his artistry on stage. His original and meticulously choreographed posing routines distinguished him from other competitors, earning enthusiastic applause from spectators. Within the bodybuilding community, he gained respect not only for his competitive achievements but also for his character and unwavering dedication to the sport.

In 1973, he established his own bodybuilding club in a former bomb shelter in the Antakalnis district of Vilnius. For more than two decades, the gym served not only as his personal training facility but also as a gathering place for aspiring bodybuilders. In 1994, however, rising rental costs forced him to close the club.

Determined to reach the highest level of excellence, Zhurtsev constantly experimented with new training methods. He trained every day, often twice a day. Such uncompromising dedication eventually took its toll. Years of extreme workloads resulted in serious shoulder and arm joint injuries. Nevertheless, his perseverance prevailed. After a lengthy recovery, he returned to competition in 1976 and won second place in his class at an international tournament in Kalinin (now Tver, Russia). Ironically, because the local authorities had banned the event, the competition was held illegally inside a sports club—an illustration of the difficult circumstances surrounding bodybuilding in the Soviet Union at the time.

His greatest competitive successes came in the late 1970s and early 1980s. At the 1978 Amber Prix in Klaipėda, Zhurtsev placed second in his category behind Olev Anus. Two years later he achieved the greatest victory of his career, winning his class at the 1980 Amber Prix. He also competed successfully in the traditional Komsomol Cup tournaments held in Kaunas in 1980, 1983, and 1984, consistently finishing among the prize winners.

Reflecting on his career, Zhurtsev once said:

"I trained incredibly hard, but I never became a world champion. I was never a slave to money—whatever I earned, I spent on food..."

These few words capture his entire philosophy. For him, bodybuilding was never about wealth or fame. It was a way of life.

Yevgeny Zhurtsev can rightly be described as a true bodybuilding idealist. He belonged to a generation of athletes who competed not for financial rewards but out of genuine passion for the sport. His life was defined by relentless self-improvement, and every success he achieved was earned through discipline, determination, and extraordinary willpower.

Today, Yevgeny Zhurtsev is remembered not only as the winner of the 1980 Amber Prix but also as one of the finest representatives of the Vilnius School of Bodybuilding, a master of posing artistry, and a man whose complete devotion to the sport inspired an entire generation of Lithuanian bodybuilders. His legacy demonstrates that an athlete's greatest achievement is measured not only by medals but also by the lasting mark left on the history of sport and in the memories of those who witnessed it.

CNN Report from Klaipėda – An Unprecedented Event in Lithuania.

Until recently, the idea that CNN would produce a report from Klaipėda would have seemed almost unimaginable. One might have assumed that one of the world's largest television networks would only take an interest in Lithuania's seaport city because of a natural disaster, a political crisis, or another event of global significance.

This time, however, it was sport that attracted international attention.

The 50th Anniversary International "Amber Prize" Tournament, held together with the WFF-WBBF "Universe" Championship in Klaipėda, generated unexpected worldwide interest. Although bodybuilding and fitness rarely receive coverage from major international broadcasters, these competitions attracted the attention of CNN.

The event brought together 198 athletes from 17 countries: Belgium, Belarus, Estonia, Germany, India, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, Slovakia, South Africa, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan. The broad international participation once again confirmed that the WFF-WBBF championships organized in Klaipėda had long since outgrown the status of national competitions and had become significant international sporting events.

The decisive turning point came after the Indian national team returned home. Indian media extensively covered their athletes' performances and victories in Klaipėda, and these publications caught the attention of CNN's editorial staff.

While preparing its report, CNN journalists contacted the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in New Delhi, requesting official information and video material. The embassy forwarded the request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, which in turn contacted Dr. Edmundas Daubaras. Under his coordination, Svetlana Pugacheva, Chair of the WFF-WBBF Technical Committee, prepared the official information and video archive that were subsequently provided to CNN.

Shortly afterwards, CNN broadcast a report introducing Lithuania, the city of Klaipėda, and the international WFF-WBBF championships held there to its global audience.

The report was significant not only for the federation and the event organizers. It represented international recognition that bodybuilding and fitness championships organized in Lithuania had reached world-class standards. It is particularly symbolic that the path to CNN began not in Lithuania but in India, where extensive media coverage of the athletes' achievements encouraged CNN journalists to investigate the event further.

The broadcast became one of the most important international recognitions of the WFF-WBBF Federation's activities. It demonstrated that the organization's reputation, built over many years through professionally organized championships and the consistent work of Dr. Edmundas Daubaras in developing the global bodybuilding and fitness movement, had earned genuine international acknowledgment.

Millions of CNN viewers heard the names of Lithuania and Klaipėda in the context of international sport, professional event organization, and international cooperation. Such worldwide exposure was not achieved through advertising campaigns but through decades of dedicated work, making this a landmark achievement for Klaipėda, Lithuanian bodybuilding, and the entire WFF-WBBF Federation.

Conclusions

CNN's report on the international WFF-WBBF championships held in Klaipėda became an exceptional milestone in the history of Lithuanian sport. The attention of one of the world's leading television networks was earned through the international scale of the competitions and their impact far beyond Lithuania's borders.

The event demonstrated that years of dedicated work, professional organization of international championships, and strong global partnerships can open the doors to the world's most influential media organizations. Klaipėda became the city from which the story of Lithuanian sport reached millions of viewers around the world.

कुछ समय पहले तक यह कल्पना करना भी कठिन था कि CNN क्लाइपेडा से कोई विशेष रिपोर्ट प्रसारित करेगा। यह माना जा सकता था कि दुनिया का यह प्रतिष्ठित समाचार चैनल लिथुआनिया के इस बंदरगाह शहर में केवल किसी प्राकृतिक आपदा, राजनीतिक संकट या वैश्विक महत्व की घटना के कारण ही रुचि लेगा।

लेकिन इस बार दुनिया का ध्यान खेल ने आकर्षित किया।

2026 BODYBUILDING ANNIVERSARIES 61 YEAR OF LITHUANIAN BODYBUILDING

On May 17, 2025, the 60th anniversary of Lithuanian bodybuilding (1965–2025) was solemnly celebrated in Gargždai, on Lithuania's Baltic coast. It was the only official commemorative event in the Republic of Lithuania dedicated to this important milestone in the nation's sporting history.

The anniversary celebrations continue. In May 2027, Klaipėda will host another historic event—the 60th International "Amber Prix" Tournament, one of the world's oldest continuously organized international bodybuilding competitions.

However, 2026 is also a landmark year. It marks a series of important anniversaries of events that have shaped not only the history of Lithuanian bodybuilding but have also left a lasting impact on the international development of the sport.

The IFBB commercial company was established in Canada, later after 1971 becoming one of the world's most influential bodybuilding organizations.

1966 – 60 Years Ago
Vilnius hosted the first international bodybuilding competition ever held in the socialist world. This historic event opened a new chapter in the development of bodybuilding throughout Eastern Europe.

1976 – 50 Years Ago
Despite the official prohibition of bodybuilding in socialist countries, Edmundas Daubaras organized a public bodybuilding competition in Telšiai. At that time, he was the only bodybuilding organizer in the Soviet Union to openly undertake such an initiative.

1986 – 40 Years Ago
On the initiative of Edmundas Daubaras, the process of establishing the official USSR Bodybuilding Federation was launched. A meeting held at his home brought together Vladimir Dubinin, Vladimir Shubov, and Arkadiy Kashansky, leading to the official founding of the Federation in Kubinka in 1987.

1996 – 30 Years Ago
Klaipėda hosted the first European Bodybuilding Championship in the history of Lithuanian sport. Organized by Edmundas Daubaras, the championship received official support from the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.

For more than six decades, Lithuania has repeatedly played a significant role in the international history of bodybuilding. The country hosted the first international bodybuilding competition in the socialist world, organized European and World Championships, and established Klaipėda as a permanent venue for major WFF–WBBF international events.

Equally important is the fact that Lithuanian enthusiasts preserved the traditions of bodybuilding even during the years when the sport was officially prohibited. Competitions continued to be organized despite political restrictions, and after Lithuania regained its independence, the country emerged as one of the most active organizers of international bodybuilding events.
